Known problems:

Windows:

• Problem: When downloading QuickTime 4 with Windows 2000, the installer stops and QuickTime 4 doesn't install.
• Solution: Instead of downloading the QuickTime installer, install the complete QuickTime 4 software and install QuickTime 4 after downloading from your hard drive. You will find the complete version of QuickTime 4 software at: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/support/
• Benefits:
  The complete version needs no live Internet connection for the installation.
  You can burn the installer software on CD and freely distribute it to friends.
  
  
  
• Problem: I can see Super-Quality movies, only. The Standard-Quality is not available. Instead of the QuickTime Player states the Error: Error 404 File not found.
• Solution: After Installing QuickTime 4 please check if your preferences for the QuickTime Player 4 are set according to the illustration below.
• Open the QuickTime Player and choose the menu Edit/Preferences and select StreamingProxy. Then click into the popup menu and change to StreamingProxy. Your should now see the picture below. Make sure Use HTTP, Port ID: 80 are chosen.
  
  
  
  

• Problem: Certain users behind a Firewall cannot watch movies in Standard-Quality.
• Solution: Contact your administrator and ask him to open Port 80 for RTSP (UDP) traffic.
